Ancillary Estate

Ancillary estate proceedings are used for handling the affairs of deceased non-Iowa residents (resident of another state at death) that own property that is located in Iowa. For example, if a Florida resident passes while owning farmland in Iowa, it would be necessary to go through the probate process in Iowa in order to establish clear title to that farmland.

I routinely assist families with handling ancillary estate proceedings throughout the state of Iowa.
